ANSI 56-1 porcelain pin type insulator is one of ceramic pin insulators consisting of porcelain parts, cotter keys and metal part and mainly used on MV & LV overhead lines.
ANSI 56-1 porcelain pin type insulator tests:
1. Type tests:
a) Visual examination
b) Verification of dimensions
c) Temperature cycle test
d) Dry one minute power frequency withstand test
e) Wet one minute power frequency withstand test
f) Mechanical strength test
g) Porosity test
2. Acceptance test:
The insulators, after having withstood the routine test shall be subjected to the following acceptance tests in the order given below:
a) Verification of Dimensions.
b) Temperature cycle test
c) Mechanical strength test
d) Porosity test
3. Routine tests:
Visual examination.
All ceramic pin insulators are designed, manufactured and tested to all ANSI C29.5, ANSI 29.6 , IEC and BS 3288-2 requirement.

ANSI 56-1 porcelain pin type insulator pins properties:
In severely corrosive marine and industrial atmospheres, the galvanized coating on ANSI 56-1 ceramic pin type insulator spindle may deteriorate over time and be followed by corrosion of the pin itself. To prevent this form of pin damage, our can supply, when needed ceramic pin insulators equipped with a corrosion retardation ring made of high-purity zinc.
