Porcelain pin type insulator ties are also called preformed hardware and include distribution ties and groove formed side ties. Porcelain pin type insulator ties are used for fixing conductors on pin insulators.
Porcelain pin type insulator ties:
The Distribution Tie secures the conductor to the top groove of a vertically mounted pin insulator. This type porcelain pin type insulator ties are manufactured in aluminium or copper clad steel, compatible with the conductor. Line angles of up to a total of 12 degrees can be accommodated subject to the suitability of the porcelain pin type insulator specification.
The Double Distribution Tie is one of the main porcelain pin type insulator ties, compliments the Distribution Tie where the construction, climate or the terrain is more extreme and consists of two fittings with opposite neck bends. When applied produces a figure of eight formation on and around the porcelain pin insulators to achieve extra high ‘pull off’ performance.
The Groove Formed Side Tie is also one of common Porcelain pin type insulator ties, accommodates line angles of up to a total of 30 degrees on a single insulator and a maximum sag angle of 15 degrees. The Porcelain pin type insulator ties have a contoured loop area to ensure superior utilisation of the insulator side groove.
