12KV pin type composite insulator are available for applications up to system voltages of 12 kV, and this type of composite pin insulators can be used in polluted environments for power utilities.
The core of a 12KV composite pin type insulator is a pultruded fiber glass rod which provides a high mechanical strength. In a direct injection molding process a non-tracking, erosion and UV resistant polymeric housing is molded directly onto the pin insulators fiberglass rod. A corrosion resistant metal end fitting is crimped onto each 12KV pin type composite insulator end of the rod to provide a high mechanical strength.
A new developed crimping control technology monitors the assembly process of the 12KV pin type composite insulator metal fittings and ensures that crimping forces cause no damage to the pin insulators fiberglass rod while achieving a crimp that will withstand the highest possible mechanical loads.
Sealed with a tracking and erosion resistant polyurethane barrier, the 12KV composite pin insulators core is protected from deterioration due to moisture ingress. The maintenance free characteristics of our material have been demonstrated during pin insulators service experience of more than 30 years.
In addition to 12KV pin type composite insulator, Orient composite insulators are available as tension (suspension), line post and station post insulators.
